ACT Government Announces New Video Games Funding Program

Canberra-based developers will now be apply to apply for funding from the ACT government, which for the first time ever has been reserved specifically for video game development. The funding, for both “early stage development work such as prototypes and vertical slices, and for full scale production”, provides up to $30,000 for the former, and up to $100,000 for the latter as non-recoupable grants. “Canberra is home to one of Australia’s highest per capita concentration of games creators and Canberrans bring sought-after skills and creativity that set us apart,” says Michael Pettersson, ACT Minister for Business, Arts and Creative Industries.
